New to the forum here. Just picked this truck up off a local man here in the country. Its a 1978 SuperCab F150. Inline 6 300CID 4.9liter. 2wheel drive. It was pretty neglected when I got it, as it was used for farm use only. 80,000 actual miles on the truck and was a one owner. Ive recently put new tires on it and gave it a good cleaning. Looking for some door panels and a new front seat. Here are some before and after pics, hope ya'll enjoy!!
Looks like you have a nice straight truck there, Congrats on your new toy......P.S. the red caps dont look thatbad....(not bad enough to fight over anyway)
Ha! That took some WORK! You're lucky you didn't rub down to the metal trying to buff that shine. I'll bet you have some blue towels laying around somewhere now huh?
Nice job. I can admire the sore arms you must have. Looks good.
What do you appreciate more? The awesome shine or the extreme workout. Just kidding, man before I even turned my computer on I was telling my nephew about an X-cab similar to year but yellow color. It was at a car lot in Baton Rouge. Couldn't get a good look at it, looked clean, but no where near as clean as that ride. That is alright. Hope you get plenty of life and good times out the ole boy.
Actually folks I owe it all to my dad and his girlfriend. As you can see from the other photos, she was pretty oxidized (sp?) from years of neglect. I left the truck over at his house after a night of drinking one too many and decided to pick it up the next day after work. This is what I pulled up to!! I put new tires on it since the clean up and am fixing to paint the rims this weekend. I'll post some more photos this weekend after a SERIOUS cleanup takes place. Thanks again fellas!
Heck, where I come from, a truck like that isn't neglect... It's SHOWROOM!
That body is cherry! At least it didn't have rocks tossed at it from the fields, or large round hay bales stacked up on the roof.
The owner took care of that thing, believe it or not... Sure, it may have been out in the sun, but at least it wasn't abused in the degree that I have seen at the junkyards!
