Smog pump eliminator...
I was surfing around on ebay last night and saw that they have smog pump eliminator pulley's for mustang 5.0's, what is the purpose of the eliminator is it to reduce clutter under the engine compartment or does it give you like another 1 hp of engine power? I recently put a A/C bypass pulley on to get rid of the compressor on my truck engine and I might put a smog pump eliminator on if it reduces the drag on the engine... I have heard that the smog pump can lock up and cause problems down the road. Let me know what you all think, it's probably not a problem for most, but it could lock up and that alone is enough for me to stick a smog pump eliminator on my 5.0 302EFI motor also it would give me a little more room to change out spark plugs on my truck....

if your emissions is working properly then really there is no benefit to a 4wd losing that equipment. the stangs dump theres alot to save weight, create more room and free up as much hp as they can even if it is small amounts. if your pump froze and you didnt want to replace it. you can just by pass it and run a shorter belt. no need for the delete kit

Yah I was just wondering if it was really worth it by removing that smog pump because it was definitely in my way when I was putting my shorty headers on, I could only imagine the pain someone would go through to put some long tube headers on... I can't wait to get my truck finished well at least on the exhaust side!
