More WVO questions.

I will ask here too. I would like to hear some, any , BAD things stories about using WVO in our trucks. What I mean is, what is some of the things that can go wrong? Can I reach my 400,000 mile goal on WVO?

Only if you drive a lot every day. The engine has to be nice and hot to burn off the glycerin that is present in WVO. Otherwise it will clog the ring lands. That's why it's recommended to start up and shut down on diesel, so it doesn't have to run cold on WVO.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't achieve the 400k mark, and even go beyond. But the conditions have to be right IMO.
For myself, I live in a pretty densely populated area and most of my trips are less than 10 miles. Hardly enough time for the thermostat to even get a chance to open, let alone get everything thoroughly warmed up. So a WVO conversion is not for me.
I instead fill up with Bio-diesel, which has had all the glycerin removed.

I'm planning to go WVO, but my trips range from 30 mins to 13 hours on a weekly basis. Still gonna start and shut down with #2.

Been running WVO since last summer. Its great! Other than tweaking the system once in a while and changing screen on Pumps, not any trouble except if you include collecting oil and filtering the water and food out of it.
Other posters are right about the longer trips etc. You need to spend lots
more money if you want faster changover times. There are many sites that
will sell you anything you need to make the switch.

I just converted my PSD to run veg. I designed the system for fast switchovers. I'm currently estimating 15 seconds to purge the veg from the fuel rails but I still need to prove that. You definitely want your veg oil and engine up to temperature before switching to veg.

I have friends that are over 35K+ miles with veg-powered PSDs with no problems at all. I've already logged 750 miles myself on my PSD and I've got 10K+ on veg with my Mercedes.

My exhaust smells like money to me!!

It is a 45 to 50 min. trip to and from work 5,6 or even 7 days a week. I think it would be worth it for that. I am thinking of doing my own basic system with two filters and under the hood heater and heated filter.
About the build up of glycerin. Could or would, using some trans fluid in the diesel tank once a week help to keep that cleared out?

I have been to 4 or 5 sites that make systems for our trucks but that $2000 price without a tank takes a big bite! To start, I was just thinking of a 26 plate heat exchanger under the hood, heated filter, pump, and pre-pump filter, all in a new line just for the WVO and not hook into the fuel line until after the heat exhanger under the hood.
How long would it take to purge out ,burn off, the WVO before shut down, with this set up ?
How about using a Turbo Saver with this set up to purge out?

I've changed oil on SVO burners and it comes out looking like shampoo. VERY stringy. It goes down past the rings into the crankcase.
