drive train conversion
yeah i know...but hey! after bringing her down from alaska and the drive up from tx sucked most of the valves throught the seats...what choice did i have...the prics was right($150). the motor seems pretty stout..i swapped on my alum intake and holley 600cfm, headers... the problem i'm having is low end torque! Mid/top range is very healthy, shifts were sluggish, so like any other hot rodder would do i threw a shift kit in(b&m street/strip) shift points are very firm, but after this conversion when getting into it i'm getting a jerking problem....backing out of the throttle helps. the next thing i'm planning (if a deal on a 69 shortbed falls through) is replacing the c4 with a c6 eliminating the carrier bearing and going with a strait shaft back to a set of 4:10's(not sure what i have now)but i'm thinking this will solve the low end torque problem till i get my 347 stroker done ,that is on the stand as we speak!Any comments or suggestions on the "jerking" would greatly be appreciated!( thinking it might be a vaccum prob).
Runt!!
thanks for the reply blaine....according to holley the 600cfm is good for my application.....the motor in her now is not close to the stocker that they came with......it(the carb) however is the first vacc secondary carb i have ever owned.....that was y i was wondering if the jerking was being caused by a poor/improper vacc source.Runt!
