Have a buddy tap the key while you watch thru the access port. A few taps should get you close and a big fat screw driver should be able to turn it the last inch or two.
MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE CANNOT START. I would disconnect the distributor main wire or disconnect the fuel pump(s).
AN alternative would be to remove all the spark plugs and turn the engine by hand or big screw driver. It is much easier without plugs.
