Too much transmission fluid
1993 Ford F150
I have way too much transmission fluid in my truck. Would this cause it to shift poorly? Are there any dangers to having too much? How would I go about getting it out if I need to?

I'm not sure what kind of damage having too much fluid will do. You can remove some with a pump of some kind. I use one that came off a gallon container of tire sealer. You could probably use a smaller one like those on a soap or hand lotion dispenser. Attach a long tube to it that is long enough to reach the fluid level through the transmission filler tube.

I would bring the level to normal. Too much can cause the fluid to froth and can lead to shift problems. Can also force seals and cause leaks. Either put flex. hose down dipstick tube and suck it out in small amounts or losen oil pan bolts a little and allow to drain.
