400 Headers
Help...Does anyone know of a set of Hooker Headers that will fit into a '59 model truck ? I have a 400 with 351C 4V heads. I know that Sanderson makes a set of shortys that will fit ,but I'd rather have a set of long tubes if anyone knows of a set that will fit.Shoot,they don't even have to be Hookers if they are a good quality set.All help will be most appreciated......FF59

I ended up going with the Sandersons for the 400 in my '53. If you have the stock front end, you might have better luck with some place else. All I can suggest is visiting manufacturer websites and see if you can find some measurements.
You might want to double check, but I think you will want 351 4V headers. I believe all of the 4V heads had bigger exhaust ports. If this is the case, and you get 400 headers, you will be restricting exhaust flow as the exhaust ports on the 400 heads are smaller. Likewise bolting a set of 4V headers to 2V 400 heads, (like I did), you would end up running a thin adapter plate, (like I did), to prevent leaks
