I am doing a 49 Merc which as far as I have seen is the same frame and body size as a F100, just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find some pictures of swaps that are done. I want to change the rear end, springs and hangers. I have read the articles on the site about swapping from cars and they are very good, but just looking for some pics from guys that have done it, and any gremlins that I need to watch out for. Also I have a MII front coming for it so I would like to find a rear with the same bolt pattern.
Mechanically the Merc and Ford are identical. Did you check the tech article on rear end swaps under the article/specs tab in the grey bar at the top of the page?

I used the rear end, springs and hangers from an 87 Chrysler 5th Avenue. Pictures in my gallery. Aftermarket MII's usually come with 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 4 3/4 pattern. If you go with the 5 on 4.5, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ford all use that pattern. If you go with 5 on 4 3/4 you need GM rear. I have heard that Nissan springs work pretty well on these old trucks.
