Smile A Good Navigation system Head Unit

I currently have an Alpine 8315 head unit that is also set up so that I have Sirius running through it as well as input for my Ipod. I would like to add a navigation system of some sort, but do not want to go broke doing it. What have some of you installed/purchased, and do you like it? What price ranges? I kind of want to stick with Alpine since I already have the Sirius an Ipod inputs. Let me know.

For the whole system I have ordered the Kenwood DDX 7017 from AAFES (military for 899), dual din receiver. It has a 6.5 or so inch touch screen, Sirius ready, 3 - 5 volt RCA outputs, GPS output, video input, and camera input, and I think it will fill the stock cd location fine. I am adding the Kenwood 510 GPS receiver (about 575 off Ebay).

There is a combo kit on Ebay that has a DDX 6017 and 510 GPS receiver for 1100 or so. Negative is that it is must be mounted to the vehicle.

For an add on there is the Garmin Quest or Quest 2 that is a 12V plug in but has a 20 hr battery for taking it on a walk, portable, moves from vehicle to vehicle.

Another option is the Magellen Roadmade, 12V plug in, touch screen, portable, moves from vehicle to vehicle.

I have no experience with either but just a couple of suggestions.

Sweet!
Are you instaling the system yourself?
if you are, way cool, if not, ask the installer if they mind if you take some pics!

Received the head unit from Japan, took 5 days. GPS comes in on the 5th. Will have it installed by Best Buy. They say 49 for the head unit, 51 or so for the GPS box, 15 to run the antennas, 17 for a wiring harness. If I can I will try to take som pics or at least a finished product pic.
