CPS Camshaft position sensor. Tells the computer where the crankshaft and camshaft are in their revolution so the computer knows when to fire the injectors and also helps it to interpret other data that it receives from other sensors. It is a black plastic piece that fits into the front of the engine block up a little from the crankshaft pulley and towards the passenger side. It is noticeable from under the truck. It is held in place with a little metal fork that has one 10 mm bolt holding it in. It has a wire connector clipped onto it. First remove the wire connector and then when you remove the bolt you can gently pry under the metal fork with a screwdriver, wiggling and prying. Takes two minutes to remove the old one and replace with a new one. It is a common cause of dead on the road powerstroke so alot of guys keep a spare one in the glovebox with a 10 mm wrench or socket.
