im looking at getting a grooving iron to do a little groovoing on the inner tread of my tsls.....my quesstion is does anyone in here have experiance with tire grooving irons? if so is ideal an ok brand? any one have and comments or suggestions???
im looking at the ideal grooving iron for about 60 bucks with two heads and 12 extra blades
#4 tips are pretty small, I am running a #5 but those are the 2 most common sizes, I am thinking of getting ahold of a #8, but it will get the job done just takes a little time with the smaller tips.
the last time i grooved mine one of them sat off the truck outside overnight and had a bit of morning dew on it when i started grooving it. that mist of water helped speed things up a bunch. i just used a spray bottle to keep the tread just moistened enough to help the blade but not enough to cool it.. saved me nearly half the time...
