I was in a truck chat room last night, and got in an arguement about the fact that Interco LTBs only go up to a 34 inch tire....I was giving that guy such a hard time about it, now i feel dumb cause i seen the ad for them on interco's site... ....have any of you seen them?? what do you think about them?? I think they look like updated Iroks personally...I kinda think its strange Interco jumped from 34"s to 47"s on that line if tire....
I think they made the jump to 47" because there's already a lot of other tires in the range between 34" and 44". You have boggers, swampers, sx's and Iroks. Why add ANOTHER tire in the same size? But with a 47" it's bigger than a 44 and not as massive as a 49. Plus, if I understood right, the compound is softer than a regular Swamper so it's better for the rock crawling crowd.
if i hadnt just dropped almost 1500 into wheels i could buy a set now....there was 9 available on interco's blem site for 385 a peice.....like i need more strain on my drivetrain.....cutting my truck up more would be fin though
i liek them because they are a narrow tire compared to 49's and the other 44's
I stole a picture off of Pirate with 49" Irok, 47" LTB, and 44" Bogger all right next to eachother. I don't know how to link it...anybody want me to send them the picture so they can link it into this thread.
I'd go 47" LTB before I went 49" Irok. Those Irok's are like balloons!
Can't find the origination of the picture mentioned above, but here's 47" LTB's mounted on a Blue Torch Fab buggy.
I bought a set of the 47" ltbs and had them out last weekend on my buddys truck and these tires rock! There was a chevy powered jeep with 44 swamper/boggers on it that thought he was king of the pit until he got stuck and we rolled into his holes and walked out of them like there was not even a hole there. The jeep would not come near for the rest of the day.
IF I had a truck big enough to run 44-49" tires, I think I'd like the LTBs.
44" Boggers cost around $450 and 49" Irocs cost around $525(both w/ smallest rim size available).
So 47" LTBs cost what $385?
I know they aren't as wide as either one, but they'd do the trick for the price.
I'd like to know how a D60 rear is surviving 47" tires with 5.88 gearing and 550hp. Even a 35 spline D70 shaft would have a hard time living with that combo.
MBBFord: The LTB's aren't $385. That was just for some blems. New they run about $480 each.
the dana 60 has been in the truck for 2years with 40" boggers and only 16 spline shafts. My buddy does not abuse his truck out of the mud.Unless he is in competion he doesn't hammer on it till the mud gets deep.He has won many trophies with it the last being first place in a 44" tire class with 40" tires.
