I'm fixing up a borrowed trailer for a friend. It's a 16ft dual-axle car-hauler type thing with electric brakes on both axles (4 wheels). Problem is, the electric brakes have been completely disconnected. The leads coming from each drum are not marked, so I can't tell which is sopposed to be +ve or -ve. Or maybe it doesn't matter?
Are electric trailer breaks generally polarized or not? If they might be, is it safe to 'test' (and possibly get the polarity wrong,) or will i damage something?
