Theres to many to start with. It sux,and those who "sponser" the site say put up with it cuz they never see them while those of us who can't afford to do that have to.....Just wait,it'll get worse.

They're a bit annoying but since I don't financially contribute I don't really have a say in whether they are there, or not. Since I have my own DNS server, I simply added an entry for googlesyndication.com and did some .htaccess trickery on my webserver, and most of the ads went away.

that add seems to just flow right in there doesn't it? i am not crazy about them but as stated before, i also don't contribute financially.
every now and then i may be a bit curious and click on the ad but then i just leave it alone. if i actually went somewhere the ads suggested in search of a part or something, would i even benefit from looking through these or would i wind up frustrated at the waste of time? if they are actually good sites that have good prices and that won't rip us off, even though they are annoying, they could be tolerated.

p.s. whether the ads are here or not, i will continue to be here because this forum is extremely helpful and not only have i gained free advice and knowledge that led me to a successful engine swap (that i had no previous experience with) but i feel i also gained a good amount of friendship that will probably grow as i continue accepting advice and perhaps start giving more advice, now that i am starting to know my way around.

If you guy's only knew what it cost to host a website this big, you would see why Ken has them. They are what keep this place on the net, I got tired of them (they are annoying) so I paid my dues an joined Club FTE.

i do not mind the ads that are on the sides and top, but the ads that just started to appear under the sponser/inline advertisment are irritating.
like for porsche parts, or tubonator, or italian singles, i question why these would be usful to f150 owners.
i often refer members to use forum sponsers as i do.
i also get a lot of useful info and realize that a cost for running forum is there.
i just find the inline ones distracting.

There are a few choices.
a. Join Club FTE and watch them disappear.
b. Personally come to the office and tell the man that you choose, to his face, that you've selected him to be fired, so you don't have to see ads. Then go home with him and explain it to his family as well.
c. Put up with a substantually slower site, and not complain about it.
d. Don't visit, and go visit another Ford truck site, who has inline ads. Or yet another one that has 7-8 ad blocks per page.
As to the ads being off topic, it takes a while for us to identify them and put them in the block list.
The fact of the matter is inline ads get noticed.
Me and the staff do okay. None of us are rich. Personally, I could have made a lot more money in the corporate world the past several years but I love what I do and I'm a true Ford enthusiast.

Guys, this is NOT the forum to be whining about ads. If you don't like them, fork over $16. I'm a college student with a sub $30 checking account balance. I paid, because I feel like it's worth the money to support the website. Follow Ken's simple step-by-step instructions, and you will be a happier Ford Trucker.

i did not say to fire anyone.

Hells Bells..
I decided to pay for a membership just to help support this site. I've gotten a bunch of good info, saved some money on repairs and may have helped a couple of other people.
So I took the plunge....
Now I have to get used to NOT seeing the frame ads...
The cost of supporting this site is less than what you would pay to go to the movies with your spouse....
It's good stuff..

Yes they are a bit annoying and I would like to support this site but they do not make that very easy to do.
I do not believe in Pay-Pal nor will I type in a CC number over the Internet.
If I could send a Money Order I would join but they did not make that an option.
