We have a recycle program with the refuse collection as an extra cost option but after I watched them throw the recyclables that we had carefully separated into types thrown into the back of a regular garbage truck with garbage I stopped paying for a service I was not getting and just recycle every few weeks at the local center and the other two drop off points I mentioned above.

Our refuse trucks have seperate sections for garbage, recyclables, and composting items.
We're supplied with 3-32 gallon containers; black (garbage), green (recyclables), and blue (composting).
It's actually an effecient operation.
