You shouldn't get any kind of code from this alone. If you turn it (increase boost) and don't have a MAP regulator or relief valve, you might set an overboost code. And, you'll want to leave the wastegate controller, green electrical plug that the red line from the original actuator goes to, hooked up even though it's not doing anything anymore. I actually have all the lines from mine pulled off, since my housing is non wastegated, and I get no codes from it at all.
Nut, how is it as far as adjusting it, easy I assume? What about holding pressure until the point it's set to open? Does it hold better than stock, which would allow for quicker spoolup?
I'm hoping that it will help my spool up times. Right now I don't see much boost at all under 2000rpm unless I really floor it. It seems like it should be spooling more down low, but this is the first PSD that I've driven.
I think the unit is made specifically for the .84A/R exhaust housing. I have mine
tightened all the way and i can hit 25 psi max for short times with my 1.00A/R housing. Very easy to adjust using 1/2" deep socket. No codes. Well made(in the USA ). Spool up is very fast with NO difference from my stock unit that i can see although i had the spring tension cranked up and the blow line disconnected.
