At the begining I though it was the AC cluch bearing. Got that replaced, noise is still there, then I replaced the idler pulley and tensioner. The noise is still there. Now I am wondering if the noise is actually coming from the belt itself. I put a little water on the belt (no pulley) while the engine is running, the noise went away for a while. Any suggestions. Thanks
I replaced the tensioner, and I thought that the tensioner wil give the proper tightness on belt. I will check if I can use one of the accessories to tighten it up more. Thanks.
there is an old trick to finding a squeky berring If you think it's berring use a bolck of wood... " Like an old broken broom handle place it on the alt or what ever an the other end to your ear.....
If u think it's just the belt.... Get some belt dressing.....

with the engine running, touch the edge of the belt with a candle -be careful of those moving parts.
Works everytime.
I finally got it fixed. IT was the belt problem. However, the belt dressing did not work, but a new belt works. Before I installed the new belt, I comapred the length of the belts, The old one is bit longer than the new one. After the installation of the new belt, the noise went away. I guess I can move the AC or the alternator further out, but there is no providsion to do that easily, except adding a few washers. I opt to just replace the belt. Thanks those who replied.
Another good trick for belt squeel is a little valve grinding compund in one spot on each side of the belt (about the size of a quater), start the engine and you'll be amazed how well it works. Takes the glaze of the belt and pulleys.
