Anyone have good results with this stuff in a modular? I don't think these motors ever had a sludging problem, but I'm trying it out due to the fact it has a great reputation and it cleans slowly.
one question WHY??????????????????? your 02 is clean as a whistle inside if maintained at the correct intervals. has BITOG has gotten to you? take a look down the fill tube and see how clean it is for yourself.
If you want to spend/throw some money at that puppy, put in a good synthetic lube and a quality filter, at least you'd be doing something positive for your engine.
If you've been changing the oil & filter, on time & with the specified, or better items, it's probably clean a a pin inside.
My 78 3.3L, 94 3.8L & 99 4.0L are & I've never used any kind of flush!!!!! Just good ole regular Havoline oil & a Motorcraft filter, both changed on time as scheduled in my owners manual.
I know this doesn't answer your initial question, but just some thoughts for pondering!!!!
Actually I have looked down the neck...I don't see how you tell what the inside of your motor looks like by barely seeing just one cam lobe?? Maybe I'm not as informed as you are regarding Ford engines, that's why people ask questions on this site. Did I hit a soft spot with you regarding a product that is on BITOG site?
look past the cam lobe and at the top of the cylinder head you should see bright clean aluminum. i have never come across a modular engine that was dirty inside as long as it was kept up.
Auto-Rx is a good product and works as advertised. There certainly won't be any problems if you use it. I think the feedback you are getting is only trying to suggest that your 5.4L probably doesn't need it.
