Please describe a normal C-6 shift
My truck seems to be running better everyday, especially good after missing it for a day or two of not taking it out. BUT half to full throttle up-shifts are soft and take just under a full second from start to end of shift, Is this normal? Should I play with the vacuum diaphragm on the tranny? Or should I just attribute it to the 3.50 gears and 33" tires?
Also it has always upshifted under light throttle very soon, like from 1st to 2nd to 3rd by like 30mph. and wont downshift until the kickdown linkage activates.

Sounds normal to me. My 79 2wd with a 460 3.50 gears does the same thing. Light throttle you dont notice it shift 1-2 and 3rd kicks in at 30mph or so. Moderate throttle 1-2 is still fairly unnoticeable and 2nd will seem to "hang-up" till 45-50 mph before it goes into 3rd.

Put a bottle of Lucas Transmission treatment in it. It'll free-up any sticky parts in the valve body and let it shift normally. Tried a bottle in my 68 Merc's C-6 that's completely orignal, never rebuilt, doesn't get driven but once a month around the block a few times. After just 3 laps around the block, the difference was noticeable.
