97 wierd door elect problem

I have a 97 F-150 141k and just had new Code Alarm installed. Periodically, and while the truck has been sitting, my alarm goes off and shows that my driver side door is open on my alarm display. Alarm company says may be bad door switch, however, if I had a bad door switch it seems I should get the door ajar light while driving every so ofter, but I never do. Also, my alarm always resets fine. It seems odd that my door switch could just drop out while the truck has been sitting for hours, but not while driving, and always reset itself by the time I reactivate the alarm.

I know, I know, I will spray wd-40 as soon as I can remember to do it at home, but something still seems funny to me. Thanks for any advice.

Spray it and the intermittent door ajar being sensed by the alarm should be resolved.

Project is right on the top of the problem.

My wife's `97 Taurus was doing the same thing. Sprayed it with WD40. Problem gone.

FYI, wasn't the switch.

Replaced the switch and same thing happened very next day. Alarm joint is telling me that it is the diagnostics signal that is sent through the vehicle periodically that is causing my problem. Have an appt. to install relay for the problem. Will report back.

They were correct. It was the diagnostics signal causing my intermittent door/alarm issue. They threw an $8 relay in the circuit and all has been good for a week now.
