Glow plug relay bad??
Been noticing some blueish white smoke at start up in the mornings for about 30-60 sec after startup. It start fine just kills all the skeeters around ... lol. But then doesn't do it the rest of the day. The nights here have been in the upper 50's to lower 60's lately. So i put a volt meter on the relay this morning after startup while it was smoking. I got 12V on the batt side, 12V on both the little studs and a big 0V on the rear large stud. The one with the yellow and brown wires in the ring terminal. I'm thinking my GP relay is shot?? Right??
One more question for ya. At startup, with the hood up, I also noticed a roll of the same smoke coming from the exhaust pipe came out from behind my turbo somewhere. I'm thinking I've got an exhaust leak too or is this normal? What's the best way to find a leak with a stethascope??
Thanks,
Brian
when i turn my key on my volt meter in truck drops to 9ish. if yours isnt then you probably got a bad one or a bad gp or 2.
i recommend the stancor gpr if your going to do it. 40 bucks. if you need a link to it let me know.
