302 engine rebuild

HI I am looking to have my 302 in my 94 F150 4x4 rebuilt. I was hoping to have it bored, head work, and cam to give me some more power. Just wondering what a complete rebuild would run me and were I could have it done.

cost will depend on the shop and how far you wanna go with the build. have you thought about possibly doing a 5.8 swap. its no more expensive to do than rebuilding your 5.0 and you will gain so much. the mpg is about the same as well

I have a 89 351 w I was going to swap in but I dont like all the messing around with harnesses and computers. I also have a computer from a 1990 351 w and E40d.

Roughly, about 2 grand. A good alternative is to see if you can get a crate motor.

Avoid like the plague the rebuilds from autozone and the like. Not sure where you are, but your local city would have plenty of qualified machine shops, with at least a few catering to RV rebuilds-where they concentrate more on low end torque than horsepower.
