I was wondering how hard it would be to swap a 3.0 for a 4.0 in a 93, Ranger. Has anyone out there done this and how much work is involved and also I have heard from some friends that a v8 swap is easy and some say it is very hard.I need some answers please.

Nothing will interchange between the 3.0 and the 4.0. If you put in the v8, you will need to change to a stronger tranny also.
Will I have to change out the wiring harness and the cpu? Will they have to match up to the engine that I choose if I can find one? I am just so frustrated at the lack of go fast goodies for the 3.0. I look at RPS and there is a wealth of hot stuff for the 4.0.

The 3.0 is a reliable workhorse, not a hotrod.
They are daily drivers that will easily give you 200000+mi.
The cost of a 4.0 is more then your 93 Ranger is worth.
Sell your 93 and buy a newer Ranger with a 4.0 and save the headaches.
All the V8 swaps I have seen are NOT FOR STREET USE vechicles (ca smog issues)
