Semper Fi, I tried the SCT and had great results in performance when not towing, nothing for MPG, probably lost a few. Got rid of the SCT after a bad towing experience with it about 40k miles ago and switched back to stock program without a single problem since. My truck is an stock '03 6.0L PSD and I recently installed a Banks 4" monster exhaust and the truck performance has increased quite a bit and it sounds awesome. I would advise a new 4" (3.5" downpipe) exhaust system first, and you will definitely experience the power and performance of the 6.0L IMO and then decide on a chip.

Thanks, guys all this was a lot of help. The engine will stay stock but I am putting the 4" exhaust (cat back) if for nothing else to improve the sound! Hehe. Did the recalibration on the PCM and so far it runs better and shifts much better. Towed a 10000 lb generator and didn't know it was there! The mileage was 13 MPG and return trip (80 miles) deadheading was 19.3. Over all 16.1. I can live with this. This trip revealed I don't need more power for now. Also, using Diesel Kleen which helps, too.
