cdr valve replacement

Post cdr valve replacement

can i take the cdr valve off of my truck its a 92 7.3 with a hypermax pulse trubo on it and replace the valve with a breather cap that a gas engine would use my cdr valve is screwed and they are expensive so will this alternative wreck anything

To do the old style breather cap would probably dump oil all over the engine. What is wrong with the CDR valve........

Have you checked with the IH dealer for the CDR....

Ford calls this item a "Adapter assembly for Crankcase Ventilation" Part number E3TZ-6A665-A
IH part #1805319C1

I just bought one Wednesday at the local Ford dealer. Brace yourself - even at my 'garage price' the valve was still about $62. And the rubber grommet that fits between it and the intake manifold is $8. Oh well, the one in my truck has been cleaned regularly, but hasn't been changed in years. So I figure it's good PM. And if it prevents future oil leaks by keeping the crankcase pressure down, then it's certainly worth it!
