Well, obviously your choices are limited. There's only so much room in a regular cab truck. I put mine under the seat, but you ruled that out. Why? There's no room under the dash, so that's out. If you mounted it to the ceiling, the screws would poke through. My only suggestion would be for you to build a console on the trasmission hump
to hide the amp. Problem with that, is amps put out heat. If it's a high power amp, it'll burn up in no time with no air flow. Put it under the seat.
I did't want to put it under the seat because there doesn't seem to be much room under there especially when someone is sitting on it. Could you put it in the engine compartment?
Heat man! The heat is terrible to amps! You can put it in the engine compartment, and then replace it every six months when it burns up. Or maybe you might get lucky and buy one with a thermal overload protection and then about every 4 beats of your favorite song it will cut out.
How big is this thing?? I am thinking you can put it behind the glove box housing, right under the dash. There is a pretty good amount of room back there, if you use it right. I would suggest installing a small cooling fan to pass air over it.
I just went thru the same problem with a Baumann shift computer and also Projection computer. Things get tight
The amp is not that big only it says right in the directions not to install under seat. I was thinking I might mount it to the trans cover, looks like theres enough room. Just how hot do these things get?
On a regular cab truck I once owned, I actually installed the amp and an extra battery in a tool box in the bed. It took some work but it did what I wanted. Just an idea, if you already have a toolbox or are planning to get one.
