Just got my 67 going again. It's got a 352 4 spd. 4.10 rear end 16inch. tires and it's a 3/4 ton. Anyone with a similiar truck knows what they get for mileage?
not quite, ive got a 390 C6 with 3.53 D60 with a 570 carb, 3/4 ton and the best i've been able to get was 9.5mpg. but i am aslo tinkering with it to see what works the best.
My stock 352, 1/2 ton, 3.50 rear end, 2 bbl and headers got 11.6 mpg in town and flirted with 14 mpg on the highway. The same truck with its current engine gets about 6 mpg. I'm thinking you will be at < 10 mpg. Good thing gas is so cheap!

probably somewhere between horrible and worse. youd prolly get somewhere in the 10ish range compared to what others are getting. our f.e.'s are such economical little motors.
And I thought a bigger engine would be less efficient...My 390 gets around 15 to 16 MPG....I did add a new Carb.....the old one got 7.5! Still very expensive to feed. I don't know if the fact i live at 5400 feet helps or hurts......The sell both Propane and E-85 here in Denver/Boulder.....not to mention "bio-diesel," but I'm not quite ready for my truck to smell like a french fry stand! lol
Has anyone done a propane of E-85 upgrade? Any comments?

On a 68 CS 414 w/C-6 and 3.54's up Central California the last trip I squeaked out 14.15 mpg. This is all flat and at sea level, I refilled at the same station and pump after the 563mile round trip. I can burn of 56 gallons with the 3 tanks on board. I'm happy as this is a 255K mile motor. Tune then retune until you tried everything for better mileage less the heavy foot.
