all Toyota's have problems with there cats. Everytime ismell a cat(rotten egg) I look for the nearest toyota hahaha
My G/F also told me that recently CR did a thing on gas milage and what the cars stated they get and what there "really" getting. She pointed out the 06 Focus ZX4 SES(fully loaded 2.0L) as 28-32mpg(I think thats it??) on the sticker and CR said it really gets 17mpg. I have an 01 that goes not get as good milage as the new Duratec motors and I have only gotten 23ish pounding on it everyday in city driving. Thay must have been really pounding on it and letting it idle for 30 minutes at a time, repetativle, to get 17mpg out of it. My first thoughts is a new F150-V8 gets that..
I do check CR before purchasing a vehicle, but take everything they say with a grain of salt. They hated the 99 Explorer, which I had purchased. The vehicle was a POS. My current vehicle an 02 F-150 got bad reviews as well, but I have not yet had one issue with it.
I've seen many more magazines than just CR give the Ridgeline their Truck of the Year award. Many of these magz state it is the least capable off road, has a lower towing capacity than competitors but features the most car like ride and the best interior won it the award. Personally I like the interior of the new F150 better, but that's just me. Problem is most these companies get drivers that like sports car handling and luxury car ride to test the trucks for daily driving, not for what a truck is supposed to be used for.
