Power steering and Front end steering components
I recently purchased a 1977 F-250 with a solid front end. I originally was not going to part it out but my interest is peaked right now. I would like to use the power steering box and all the steering linkages in my 1965 Mercury. I already have power discs on this truck but I would like the power steering equipment and the front end of this truck is better than my Mercury. So the question is will the parts interchange from a 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton. Both are 2 wheel drive and I am not using the Spindles or I beams just the steering linkages and the box, pump ect. Thanks

If the 77 is a 4X2 with a GVW rating under 6900# steering linkage will work fine. The Boxes are all the same, well not all boxes are the same! All 2wd steering boxes will fit all 2wd drives 65-79 power or manual F-100 thru F-350.
Obviously power steering boxes are different from manual and 4X4 are different from 4X2, but all manual and power steering boxes out of like kind vehicles will interchange on a bolt up basis with some exceptions in the earlier 4X4 F-Series units, and the fact that F-350 and heavy F-250 boxes use a different pitman arm set up deal. . . so the short answer in your case is Go For It, if donor is GVW under the 6900# threshold!
