I have seen on other posts where people have replaced their VSS in order to resolve a condition where the O/D light blinks and the speedometer is not operating.
I have that condition periodically, and plan to change mine this weekend. My question is if there is more than one of these-
two different people I have talked to with Ford indicate that there is one for the 'pumpkin' on the rear axle (which is the one I know about) and also one for the transmission.
Are there actually two, and if so, how do I know which needs replacing?
Can I access the one in the tranny (if it exists) from the comfort of my driveway? Its for a 2002 F250 7.3.
The one in the diff is actually called the RABS (rear anti-lock brake sensor) and the actual speed sensor is in the tranny somewhere. Actually, I think I've heard someone on here say it's somewhere between the tranny and transfer case.
