I drove up to Hanks today on Hwy. 16 in my IH, but on the way back I passed someone. Don't ask how fast i was gonin ( no speedometer) but I passed someone. Sure it was a old couple in a white Crown Vic. but I OWNED them. It was quite funny I was laughing and cringing my teeth at the same time. I had that 264 reven higher then it had since I've owned it. I think I could use another gear. But, it was sure nice to be the passer for once, finally.
The wife's car used to be a 97 Corolla with a 1.6L, that thing was sooooo gutless. We took it to BC one time and all I could get was 60 kph holding the pedal to the floor the whole time!! Now she has an 01 Windstar and it has plenty of *****!!!
Reminds me of my darker days and a VW Bug. Got to finally pass a car on the highway one nite untill I seen the red lites on top, had to back off and everything was cool.
Thats awesome man, maybe a higher geared rear end might be in the near future?
I may swap with a Dana 44 axle 3.23 ratio from a Dodge. I have hesitaded to do this, since I have both rear and front Dodge axles. It's too tempting to make my IH 4-by. But if i do that I'll also have to raise the old Corn binder, but I kinda like its height now. (But i know me, and I'll have to raise it I know I will.)
