Bronco Weight ??

Anyone have a rough idea of what a full size body weighs ? Im removing one from a chassis to use the frame/drivetrain for a race buggy. Ive got an opportunity to ****** a trailer, but havent got the body off to weigh the chassis. I need to have a rough weight of the motor (8cyl), frame and axles.

I can give you pieces of info for whatever its worth. My '96 5.8L without the spare/rack and top removed weighs 4768lbs with about half a tank of gas (2432lbs on the front axle, 2336lbs on the rear axle). A 5.8L crate engine from Ford weighs about 595lbs dry. My guess on the body weight would be 1800lbs.

so, Id prob be looking at just under 3000.....Thats a lot more than I thought, but really had notheing to base it on...I am roughly guessing around 1500 for tires, trany/transfer, axels and motor...then whatever the frame weighs...
