Temp related stalling
86 F-150, 302, EFI
A while back my truck stopped running and it turned out to be the control module (mounted on the distruibutor). I had it replaced, but now I can drive for about 30 min and the truck dies. I have determined it is temp related (I can drive longer on cool days/mornings, less on hot days/afternoons). My mechanic tells me it is not the new module (even though there is a known problem with them) and is telling me that it is the electronic pick-up in the distributor. Has anybody ever heard of this problem or is he blowing smoke so he doesn't have to warranty his work?

Could be that the module is heating up and shutting down. However on the warranty part of it my dad always told me that warranties and insurance premiums are the same, the only guarenteed thing about them is the price.
