Good Morning,
has anyone seen a ford pickup that had yellow turnsignals on the rear? I live in Germany, so when I bought my 1990 F250 from a German, the tailights had been reworked so that the backup lights flashed as turnsignals and there was just an amber bulb in the socket. I can't hook things back up the right way until I find a lense assembly with a yellow turnsignal (or clear would also work).
Any suggestions?
Do you have anything that is working for backup lights? It sounds to me like someone may have incorrectly installed the turn signal socket into the hole where the backup light is supposed to go.
Sorry, guess I should have gave a little more detail. German law is that turnsignals have to be yellow. What these people did in order to pass German inspection is cut the wire going to the correct brakelight and splice it into the socket for the backup lights, put in two amber bulbs and made yellow turn signals. A clear auxialary light was mounted on the bumper for a backup light. Serves the purpose, but I'd like to put things back right if possible. Just need to find (if they even exist) tailight lenses with yellow or clear turn signal portions.
I have never seen a F150 with that setup, but what about a Ranger or Explorer. I know most do not, but I think a few years have the yellow turn signal. Maybe you could modify a pair of the clear aftermarket tail lights. I personally do not like these, but I could be something to consider. Do an ebay search and you will probably see a variety of the clear/altezza style tail lights. I do know that 87-96 F150 tail lights will fit your truck, just so you know. If you are not required to have the reflector, then maybe you could modify these to allow an amber bulb where the reflector is. This is the style of light that I was talking about. I really do not like any of these style lights, but if it works then it works I guess.
