Hi All!
I have a 2000 7.3 F350 Dually I bought a couple months ago. It has 46k and the green coolant looks real clean. I have no clue when the coolant was changed last or if it's low on additive. I tried to order some test strips and can't seem to find any that are not on backorder. I called ford they said it should just be changed every year. If I just drain the radiaor how many Gallons of Radiator fluid do I need and how much additive. I was planning on picking everything up before I drain it. Thanks in advance!
Depends where you are located. a good 50/50 mix is best. whatever coolant you buy be sure it's compatible w/ fords. do you just want to drain the radiator ? or drain it then start the motor to drain the block too ? if u drain it all just dump in a whole gallon of fluid, fill that old container w/ water and dump it in w/ the motor running and so on and so on. there are many methods. Did you ever think about putting in some flush/wash to clean up your radiator pores b4 do the new fluid ? I had an old camaro w/ pasty dirt floatin around and was pricey to replace, keep that baby healthy.

It looks clean as can be. I just want to make sure it has the additive for diesels. Ford has the additive for $10 bottle. I just need to know how much to ad if I drain the radiator?
Add 4 pints of additive to your 50/50 mix of MotorCraft approved Coolant.
----4 pints of additive is a gallon!!---way to much!!!,if in doubt about coolant---flush-it complete w/cleaner-add 1 pint of diesel additive to the 50/50 mix

Just to keep the record straight, 4 pints is half a gallon. Still probably too much though.
