I just painted some rims and put them on my truck the other day and I got looking close and I saw that the top plate on my rear bumper had started to lift off of the rest of the bumper. So I was wondering if any of you guys know what different eras of bumpers (if any) will fit my 1970 ford F-100
Any help would be great thanx,
Steve

Steve, I don't know what bumper you have on now, but for sure any 65 to 72 will work, maybe older. In 73 the rear chassis was widened.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I put an aftermaket chrome "step" bumper on my truck and the listing said it fit Ford trucks from sometime pre-67 (can't remember exact first year) up to '96. Hence, bumpers all the way up to '96 should work, but you might have to make or buy some brackets.
In 73 they switched to 2 different width frames, 2WD were 33 inches, the 4WD were 37 inches. The difference was in the bracket kit, depending on 2 or 4WD. The bumpers were the same. Measure the area on your bumper behind the bumper, between the brackets for the width and when you find a bumper, measure it. As stated above the bumpers are pretty much the same up to 96. The ones to stay away from are the 80-85 bumpers, as they are narrower from top to bottom and are thin.
