I am building a 390 for my '79 F150
forged pistons (flat top)
edelbrock heads and intake
Harland sharp rockers
crane extreme energy cam
I want to do Mpfi with holley commander 950 system
gonna deck and line hone block etc
But i noticed .... my Con rods all seem to be same casting numbers but they all slightly look different. For example the nub the sticks up abouve the wrist pin end can vary in height by over 1/8 inch. Should i look for Better rods?
Yeah, Rusty is right, sounds like it was already balanced once. Get the rotating assembly balanced this time and everything should be fine.
I'd put on a regular carb first and get the cam broken in and everything before trying to get the MPFI working. Someone else here has already done it, but had a hard time getting it perfect.
