I cant remove the old kingpins in my 1971 ford pickup. I am blue in the face from pounding on them and they have not moved. I need my truck for work tomorrow. PLEASE HELP ME You can email me at tylern@saber.net 6-23-02
I just had the same problem today. I ended up using a propane torch to get it hot and it worked. I started out with some cleaner and wd40 and a wire brush, but the propane torch made the difference.
Did the torch thing with no luck
30 minutes then shocked it with cold water.
Still no luck with the kingpins moving. Going to take them to the machine shop tomorrow if I don't get them in the next hour or so.
I NEED SERIOUS moral support on this one.
If you have MSN messenger add me with velvetheadedmonster(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and we can chat about my problem. Thanks Guys...........Lou
These are two of the various threads that have been posted to deal with the same problem you are having. Everytime before I post I do a search and try to find it elsewhere in the forums. It saves me a lot of headache and waiting for others to respond. Just click search, type in what you're looking for and then search the appropriate forums.
