C clip push rods
Ooops that did not sound good.
White smoke pours out the stacks.....
Oooops, that does not look good either.
Coast to the side of the road.
Nothing running out the bottom.
No holes or dents in the rocker covers.
Everything looks normal.
Coolant level OK
Oil level OK
Touch the starter, engine starts right up, sounds normal except for a dead cylinder.
Well, that is not good, but at least it is not making strange metal sounds.
Oil pressure is way low though, only 2 PSI.
Shut it back down.
Tow it home this morning.
Check coolant, empty.
Check oil, way over full.
Touch starter, it cranks over.
Cool, it is not locked up, and it is not hydrolocked.
OK, time to disassemble looking for problems.
Remove rocker covers.
Everything looks good on the drivers side.
Passenger side looks great almost, except the #1 cylinder both the intake and exhaust push rods are bent. And I do mean bent big time.
Remove rockers on #1 and wow they are so bent that they will not come out of the head.
Oooops this looks bad.
Valves are not stuck and look to be at normal height.
Say to self, "Self wonder what that means?"
Self says,"I dunno".
So I start removing the turbo and all the goodies.
I will let you know more tomorrow night.
Looks like I am installing my six speed inside the engine though.
I don't think it is going to help my fuel mileage in there.

Had a little issue with a rounded head on an exhaust manifold bolt this evening. I got in late then had that problem so all I got done this evening was the exhaust manifold off the passenger side.
There was coolant in the #1 exhaust port, so I guess that is where the coolant all leaked out at. Looking in the exhaust port, the valve looks OK, but I did have a lot of oil in the intake manifold.
Tomorrow if I am lucky I will get the turbo off and the head off so I can see what I have to work with.
I have a borrowed Dodge to run around in, slightly better than walking I think.
I have about decieded to rebuild this engine myself as long as I have something to work with. After tearing down 4 reman engines that I paid good money for, I know I can do a better job myself. That is not going to be a fast way to get back on the road, but once I get there I think I will be there for much longer.
Time to build one the way I want it this time.
