wiring-please someone HELP

1. I am having trouble with the wiring in my 68 F-100. The passengers side front running lightgoes on everytime, you hit the brakes. What is the problem? I had to wire the hazard lights to two different toggle switches. Is that the problem, or is it somewhere else?

2. I put a Grant steering wheel on the same truck, and I can't get the horn to blow, but it does work (tested to the battery). Is the Grant working off a ground and the horn itself working on a different ground and they are interferring with each other?

Those things all run through the connection on the steering column & brake switch.
That's where I'd be looking.

Sounds like the brake light circuit is somehow connected to the front light. The horn has two contact pins under the steering wheel. One goes to the horn; the other one to +12v. The Grants are sometines tricky to get working right. Look at the pins to see if they are making contact to the "circuit board" under the wheel. I prefer to install a horn relay and operate it by using the horn button to apply a ground to the relay. That way you can get rid of the hot wire in the column, causes sparks sometimes.

I think the problem lies in your using two switches for your flashers. There is a red/black stripe wire coming off your stoplamp switch. That is 12VDC to light your back up lamps. At your steering column connector this wire is jumpered to another red/black stripe that runs to your emergency flasher switch. If that wire is somehow connected to your front park lights than when you push the brakes it will provide 12VDC to your front park lamps and light them.

As far as the horn goes. On your steering column connector there is a Blue/Yellow Stripe wire. A ground applied to this wire through the horn switch will activate the horn relay. The horn relay when activated applies 12VDC from the battery to the horn.

All info is straight out off the wiring diagram for your truck. All wire colors are original and could be different if a heavily modified wiring harness is installed.

Hope this helps.
