Which regulated fuel return system?

Which regulated fuel return system is the best one out there? I see this one from ITP Diesel: http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php?c...on=show_detail
and this one from Diesel Innovations: http://www.dieselinnovations.com/di....products&cat=2 (need to scroll down a bit)
Are there any others out there that are better? Are these 2 kits basically the same thing or is there an advantage to one of them? I am thinking about doing this in the future and how much of a difference will it make in the sound of the engine?
Thanks for any advice!!!

There's Bob Riley's CPR systems from dieselsite, they are unduobtedly good systems but expensive.
My regulated return didn't make much difference in engine sound. Myabe a little bit quieter.

Clux, are you running the DieselSite CPR system then?

I looked at all of those, then made my own sort of similar in material and design to Kwikk's. Little bit of a PITA trying to assemble all the right fittings, as what I thought would work and what I ended up with were 2 different things. Now my system has no gauge and I kept the stock regulator and all came in under $130 give or take. My intent was to open the fuel rails at the rear and give the air in there a place to go.
With the pre-pump and these mods, the truck was quite a bit quieter, especially the cackle. It's still a diesel though and will never be quiet. Runs good though.
While I've not yet posted my fuel line pics, plenty here have. Just check some galleries if you decide to go that route.

I think they're both pretty good systems. But, before I decided to make my own, I was leaning toward the ITP kit.

Yeah, I agree JT. Those hard lines near the exhaust and the turbo are a definate plus. I ended up using Spectre SS hose sleeve over my rubber goodyear lines and topped that off with spark plug boot protector sleeve at both feed locations for additional protection. I figure if that stuff can withstand header temps it should work there, and has so far.

That was the big reason I was leaning toward the ITP kit. I also added some hi temp protective wrap over my hoses near the turbo, although it's not on in the pics that are in my gallery. It was done after those pics were taken.

So they are the same hoses, just a different manufacturer I take it. I think the DI kit says it goes from the rear of the fuel rails and I would assume the ITP kit would as well but didn't see them mention it?? The CPR kit from Dieselsite in definitely more money but it also seems to include things I already have (Dahl 100, Hutch mod) and it comes with a fuel cooler, are you guys running some kind of fuel cooler in the systems you made?

I'm not running any cooler on my fuel lines and wouldn't want one, especially in the winter during cold starts.

Negative. The DI kit does feed both from the rear. The ITP kit feeds passenger side at the rear, but feeds driver's side at the front. Only by downloading and reading their install instructions, did I discover that the driver's side fed from the front. It does have return lines for both sides though. I asked Dennis (ITP) about this, and he said that in their testing there was absoutley no difference between feeding the driver's side head from the front or the rear. I have no way to prove this any different, so I'm not saying that their tests are in accurate. However, logic tells me that feeding the driver's side head from the rear is better for fuel flow to the injectors, given the firing order of the #6 & #8 injectors. Because the ITP kit doesn't feed from the rear on the driver's side, this is why I didn't buy thier kit.

Have you ever looked at the cylinder head and the fuel rail? There is no physical reason for changing the fuel flow direction. If the rail is full of clean, properly pressurized fuel, it doesn't matter which way it's flowing.

Look at it this way, if the flow is setup like stock (in the front of the driver side and out the back), and IF the #6/#8 firing order is really causing a problem with fuel availability coming from the front of the head, wouldn't the pressurized fuel between the #8 injector and the regulator still be available?

The flow difference between the stock setup and the aftermarket setups is so different. You are moving a lot more fuel through the system...the #6/#8 issue is gone with the aftermarket setups...no matter which way you flow the fuel.

No disagreement with you there AG. True, that the pressurized fuel from the #8 injector and regulator should be available. And, like I stated earlier, Dennis at ITP found no difference whether it was fed from the front or the rear of the head. I can't exactly explain why I wanted them both to feed from the rear, because the only logic I have was disproved in tests by ITP. Just personal preference I guess.

Being a new diesel owner, my main question was the front vs. rear issue on the fuel feed. I didn't know if it made a difference or not but the DI kit mentioned exactly where it fed the heads so they nust be proud of it. Thanks for the info as I love learning on FTE!!
