I'm looking for the website where the guy shows how he mated a T5 transmission to his Y-block in his 60's f100. I tried to search but came up empty. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Bendtsens makes an adapter for it, you can see pics of the same adapter in my gallery, however I went with the Automatic Overdrive instead of the T5, same adapter will work with the t5 but you will need a different flywheel than the one that comes with the kit..
The adapter is cheaper, because it is not nearly as large/involved as the Bendtsen kit, but on the other hand, you will need to modify your bellhousing, or have Mummert do it. This bellhousing does retain the side mount provisions, making that issue easier, if your truck has them.
I have not seen anyone yet use the Bendtsen http://www.transmissionadapters.com/ kit for a manual trans swap, though it certainly has the correct housing bolt pattern. As Shipfitter states (as does the Bendtsen web site), a different flywheel is needed other than the kit's included one. Perhaps he will be willing to substitute. I suspect you would need to keep an eye on the depth of the input shaft as well. You will also need to come up with a rear trans crossmember.
There are other methods to mate a T5, but I'd have to do some looking, as my memory's a little hazy about it now.

Hey guys thanks for the info. I was actually looking for a web site a guy had where he redrilled the stock bell housing and mated the T5 to it. he had pretty good write up on what he did.
These links and info is very helpful though. Thanks!
I have the modified bell from John Mummert for my '55. The T-5 will bolt up to this bell but you have to check that the pilot shaft does not bind on the back of the crankshaft. I had to trim about 1/8 inch off the pilot. The engine I have is a '64 292. Pics are in my gallery and on my web page.
I also bought the bracket, clutch/pressure plate, pilot bearing and modified throwout bearing so I could use my original clutch fork and pedal.
The Mustang World Class T-5 is the one that will fit the bell but it puts the shifter too far back for a bench seat. I checked with the shop where I bought my T-5 and they can swap out the tail stock and mainshaft from an S10 truck T-5 to move the shifter forward. Just need the cash to get it done.

Thanks for this nfo guys,
Roger, I was checking out your website. Thats a great truck you've got there. Absolutly beutiful engine!.
I have a world class T5 that I'm going to be using once I collect the rest of the parts. I figure I will have to switch out the tail Housing to a S10 style so the shifter will work with my bench seat. What will my options be for a drive shaft? Do I need to have mine shortened or lengthened? Will I need a different trans yoke from the one for my 3 speed. Should I just have a drive shaft custom built?

Mike you will need a trans yoke on a driveshaft that will fit the GM tailhousing. I think it is 27 spline. You will need to measure for a driveshaft after you install the trans. Most likely you will need to shorten it but I don't know how much. Measure twice and have a driveshaft shop cut it and install the trans yoke and balance the driveshaft. If you want to change the diff, now would be the time so you don't have to mess with the driveshaft again. I put a 9 inch diff from a '68 F100. After I get the trans tail housing done then I will mount the engine and trans and figure out the length I need for my driveshaft. I have an aluminum shaft from a Crown Vic that I will try to use.
The only thing I can add is this: if you decide on a custom shaft, (prob. wouldn't hurt even if you modify an existing one), once you've picked a driveshaft shop, ask them how they want you to measure it, & be very specific. Different shops use slightly different methods & measuring points.
For ex. some shops will tell you to "bottom" the trans yoke (push in all the way), & then pull it out a certain amount & measure; others will have you bottom it & measure, & THEY determine the clearance needed & add it.
Had the memorable experience some time back of watching a friend pretzel a shaft at the track, win the round, & discover his spare, untested, shiny new carbon fiber driveshaft had less than 1/2" spline-to-yoke engagement when installed. New vendor, new method (to him)....
