We ordered our 06 F350 V10 4x2 on Febuary 4th and it is still not in. We have no idea what is taking Ford so long. About two weeks ago we found out that our truck was built so we thought we would be getting it soon. We live in Indianapolis which is about 3 hours from Louisville where the Super Dutys are built so we expected our truck to be in after about a day or two. All we are being told by ford is that our truck is "in the shipping process." After seeing others in the V10 forum from Texas and other places that ordered there V10s a month or more after us we don't know what to think. IS OUR TRUCK LOST? The VP of our Ford dealer says there is nothing they can do to make Ford move faster or to even find out where our truck is. We really need to put miles on our truck before we go camping in May. What else can we do besides wait?
Good idea about the VIN #. I'll go to our dealer Monday and try to get it from him. They probably love my Dad and I coming in every other day to find out if our truck is in yet.
My 2006 V10 was ordered MArch 1st and came to the dealer on Friday...they could not tell me anything except that it was being built...
In fact, I saw it last night and calle the salesman this morning...I had to tell him to look out his window to see my truck..he had absolutely no idea it had come it.
It appears that once you sign the papers and put down the deposit, it is a done deal and the salesman forgets all about you ......loser.
Sup[osedly, the dealer reciever daily updates from FORD regarding ordered vehicles until it is shipped...then it seems they go into cyber space until they just show up....
I intend to tell the salesman that if he worked for me I would fire him....loser.
Mine was built on on 1/15. It left the Kentucy plant on 1/21. After being shipped by train to California, it sat in a train yard once it got off-loaded from the train until for over 3 weeks. The delay I was told was once it gets taken off of the train, they load them onto trucks based on where in the yard the truck is... if it is in the back of the yard (blocked in), it simply has to wait until the rest of them get loaded. The workers at the yard do not respond to dealership questions or inquiries (doesn't matter who calls). Very frustrating, but definately worth the wait once yours shows up. Be patient... It will come
my guess is it is been unloaded and sitting in a rail yard awaiting the final load onto a trailer. This can take up to 4 weeks I have heard , i have several friends who work in the benica rail yard and they simply don't care. If yours is in back it will stay there until all the ones in the front are moved.
