I've got a 68 f-250 ranger camper special 3/4 ton with overloads.
I'd like to put one ton leaf springs on the truck with the same overloads. Has anyone done this and is it worth it for packing a camper (or firewood)? It has a 360 in it.
The springs that are on the truck, should be more than enough for any load that you would want to haul. The springs are stablizers, to keep the truck level and the stable. The axle will still have to carry the load regardless of the spring rating.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
If you're curious about spring interchanges, I have a few images scanned from the Hollander interchange manual in my gallery:

I can add more if there's an interchange cross reference you'd like to see.
