Its almost better to buy a different truck than changing motors in these trucks. You will need the radiator ,ecu, wiring,motor mounts,tranny & much labor to swap to a v8. This isn't a complete list but its a start. If I was swapping I'd buy a wrecked donor truck to do it.
Wow, I'd be better off to just R&R the 4.2, never had any problems out of it, bought it new, then the other day water in the cylinder busted a piston and bent a rod( we think, haven't got into it yet).
