I need to replace the bumper on my 2000 f150. I noticed while looking for bumpers that some are advertised as 4x4 and some are for 4x2. Does anyone know if these are interchangeable???? Thanks in advance.

 

I may be wrong but my guess would be that for most trim levels: 4x4's came with fog lights and the 4x2's did not. The XL 4wd didn't have them and the 2wd King Ranches did (?), that's all I can think of.

I'm pretty sure someone posted here or on another board about successfully using a 4wd bumper on their 2wd to gain OE looking fog lights, they should be interchangeable.

/I'm assuming you're getting the metal bumper and plastic apron that goes on it together, not just the metal part.

 

The bumper from 99-03 is the same for 2wd and 4wd. The plastic valance is what is different.

Here's a tip... Don't get the junk sold online. I did and within what seems like hours it began rusting. Go for the OEM item for long lasting results.
