I am in the process of fixing up a '69 hybrid pickup truck. It's a 4-wheel drive, Dana 60 in back and 44 up front with coil springs. It has a '72 body and a balanced 460 from a thunderbird. I am looking for a cheap Dana 60 for the front and will do the conversion to leafs as well. What I'm wondering is: I've found a wrecked '77 F250 with leafs in the front (dana 44 also) and I would like to get started on the hardware swap(the frame mounts and the shackles). Is all the mounts the same for the dana 60 and the dana 44? In other words: If I mount or weld the shackles and spring mounts from the '77 (F250) on my '69, will the dana 60 bolt up when, or if, I find it? Are the leaf spring mounts the same? Any insight would be helpful
perch width should be the same. spring leaf width, and axel housing diameter will probably be different. any good spring shop can make you new u bolt what ever size you want.
