I just bought a 1988 f350 front leaf dana 60 axle to swap into my 84 ifs bronco. Has anyone out they done this conversion. I was thinking on using the below parts.
shock mounts from any 86-97 leaf truck
rear hangers from a 86-97 leaf truck
front hangers (box the frame) pre 80' f250,f350
springs 6" superlift
There is a kit from www.offroadunlimited.com under conversions that I also thought might do the trick.
I'm planning on doing this swap myself and have been told that all you need to do is use the steering componenets the trac bar and trac bar mount and that was about it.

thats just a bolt in conversion, your truck already has leaves and everything set up just like the 1 tons that the 60 came off of, you just have to bolt in the steering/tracbar, and unbolt your ttb brackets
I have a 1/2 ton bronco with a IFS dana 44 front axle.
I wish a bolt in.
It does appear that the frame is the same except the bronco does not have the frame drilled for the rear leaf brackets. As for the front mounts, this is were the simularities stop. I will have to either box the frame and used pre 80' brackets for stock or maybe use or make a kit like from O.R.U.
i say just box as much of your frame as you can and go with the pre 80 mounts, or just fab your own
that is if your frame is 36.5 center to center
if not youll have ot make some offeset mounts
Got a complete front frame section from an 88 f350. I used for referance and for all the stock brackets. All I had to do to my Bronco frame was grind off the spring bucket and there is a bracket rivited to the driver side cross member that needs to be removed. Then I notched the frame for the front leaf spring mount just like the f350 frame. Bolted and then welded front/rear leaf mounts and shock mounts from the f350 framce section. Bolted in 60 to leafs. Had to drill holes in crossmember since this axle has a track bar. Steering was easy if you use a f350 pitman arm. Brakes hoses hooked right up.
ont put a punt 60 in the rear....find an 85-97 f-250hd or f-350 srw, and get the sterling 10.25 out of it, it will bolt right into your truck, if your not lifting it you may have to shorten your d-shaft a bit
well that was the information i was lookin for, i want to put a 3/4 ton straight axle under my 96' F150. well looks like i am going to the junk yards soon..
