I have a question, has anyone tried this. I will be switching to mass air, and I want to get a remanned 5.0 H.O. and put a 6 psi blower on it. My question is
would the H.O. be radical or would a stock engine be better for a blower.
My truck is a lifted 90 F-150 with AOD and stock gears with 35" tires.
The stocker has a lower compression ratio which would be more beneficial in a blower application - but the HO is not too high for 6psi. You could probably run 9psi on either setup without trouble.
If you could find it, you could get an engine out of an 88-92 mustang because they came from the factory with forged pistons.
Im with Mustang on that. My brother had a 94 mustang. He swapped for a 91 engine and slapped a nice 8 psi blower on it. Thing was killer. If you are wanting some mean power can you afford to get your hands on a 393 stroker? That will make you smile greatly with that blower on there.
