Ya, I got my motor figured out and temporarily fixed. Still need to do my intake/carb swap. Its going to be a while before I get any time to wrench on it again, we just started planting corn yesterday. I did manage to man handle my box last nite and got that put on as well as my hood. I'll try to snap a pic sometime today outside the shop if its not raining.
Looking good, dang you did I nice job, heck I got that much into my rattle can paint job. Maybe I should hire you to come down and repaint my truck.<a href="http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm824BXUS" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_42.gif" alt="Looks Great" border="0"></a>
monster - thanks that means alot coming from a guy like you! I do have a HVLP gun and will travel! hehe I really don't mind spraying paint on, its all the prep work/bodywork that gets old to me. If I was as picky with the bodywork as I am with other stuff, this truck wouldn't be wheelable after I got done with it. I decided the hell with the dents and stuff, it just adds character. All the rust is fixed, and shouldn't have to worrry about the truck rusting out anytime soon.
I am going to sawzall the only rust that is on my truck this year so that is not a problem with mine.
I know what you mean, I am the same way on things. Certian things I am fairly good at others not so good. I don't have the patience for body and paint work. I am pretty good at engines and trannies, not bad on diffs, and can passably do fab work but man I can't paint and expecially hate the prep work.
The finished product looks pretty good. Your right no sense in fixin all the dents and stuff if your gonna wheel it and get more ne way. Even though i went to school for collision/refinishing I dont know if I could do it everyday for an occupation. That's probly why I dont work at a body shop. It is nice to know how to do it for your own projects though. I dont have enough patience to be a perfectionist at body work. Painting is pretty fun but the prep work sucks alot like monster said.
lookin great...i almost went with new holland blue myself. but last minute i went with kubota orange. they are 20 bucks a galllon around here....and for touchups you can buy the same paint in a rattle can
Yeah Black will look good with the blue on your pickup. Yep you have to have the neon on the undercarriage like the imports. Just need to get lockers and youll be set Huh.
THanks again guys! Ya, just need a 60 front now with some crossover steering and lockers The rear has some sort of a LS in it, it will lay rubber on the hwy with both tires (wish I could do a bad@$$ burnout like the blind dude).
Daniel Little at USA 6x6 has a HP locked D60 with 4.56's (and I think its reverse cut) ready to go for $800, im sure you could get him down a little bit though.
